KENT, Wash. — UTOPIA WA has promoted Tweetie Fatuesi to the role of community services director, a move that highlights the organization’s commitment to leadership development and community empowerment.

Fatuesi, known for her dedication to serving Pacific Islander and LGBTQIA+ communities, shared her gratitude and excitement about the new role in a statement.

“I am truly honored to step into the role of community services director,” Fatuesi said. “This opportunity is both humbling and inspiring, as I reflect on the incredible work this organization has already accomplished and the limitless potential we have to achieve even more together.”

Fatuesi expressed appreciation for UTOPIA WA’s staff, volunteers, and board of directors, crediting their trust and support as a key motivator.

“To everyone who contributes to our mission: you are the heartbeat of this organization,” she said. “Your hard work and passion inspire me every day, and I am committed to amplifying your voices and ensuring that our collective efforts create meaningful change.”

As community services director, Fatuesi will oversee the organization’s direct service programs and initiatives. Her leadership will focus on aligning the organization’s efforts with the needs of the communities it serves, while upholding UTOPIA WA’s values of cultural knowledge, sustainability, and principled struggle.

The announcement has been met with widespread congratulations from UTOPIA WA’s network of staff, board members, and volunteers.

UTOPIA WA is a queer and trans-Pacific Islander-led organization dedicated to serving Pacific Islander LGBTQIA+ communities through culturally grounded programs and services.
