
APIA, Samoa (Feb. 25, 2025) : Samoa’s opposition leader Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi has formally moved a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa in Parliament.
The motion which is currently being discussed in the Parliamentary proceedings, challenges the leadership of Fiame, on the basis that she no longer has the majority support in Parliament.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Papalii Lio Masipua has acknowledged receipt of the motion and is now continuing the discussions in Parliament on the matter.
